Hopping Bunnies!!

Hey friends, just a quick post today to share a fun easy project.  The other day our little craft group met at my sisters and did a some painting.  Jan had found these cute wood cut outs in the Target bins ($3).   I painted mine tones of grey.   She also found the pom pom tails in the Target bins.  I had die cut some felt flowers with my AccuCut dies, so we added those with  a button center.

We were so busy chatting it up that I really didn't take as many photos as I planned to. Sorry.   But here are what these bunnies look like unpainted.

She also had these standing bunnies and chics as choices.

After painting I sanded mine a bit.  After that all you have to do is hot glue on the tail and the flower.
Of course you could do detailed painting on these also.. adding a face ect.  But we liked them just like this :)

It's always a fun day with the girls. Catching up, sharing photos of the grandkids ( or in my case.. the grand-pups) lol    Since we were in Lincoln we met for lunch at our favorite Mexican food place (Mazatlan) before heading over to Jan's to craft.

 Oh yes...
So.... and then there was this Pistachio Coconut Cake
My sisters ( all of them) come up with the best recipes and are amazing cooks and bakers.  This is cake my sis Jan made for our little craft get together at her house.  It was AMAZING!

You can click on the link above to find the recipe.  If your looking for something different for Easter, this just might be it.

Now we are home ... dog sitting.  Amy and Weston are headed to Zion and Bryce national parks, so we had Jep here with us for a week.   Yesterday was National Puppy Day!  So... of course we needed a photo.

Here is Wes and Amy on their first stop... Vegas!
They will also be seeing Amy's family while they are traveling.

Dan's off this weekend so he had help entertain the dogs lol.  I think Jep thinks he's at a doggy nursing home lol  He's looking at me like "why are these dogs always sleeping?"   He is one active dog!  Our  dogs seem lazy compared to him. Reallyyyyyy lazy! lol

Have a great weekend my friends!
I'll be back next week with some fun crafty news to share ;)

Feeling Springy? I am!

Hey, it's just me over here, trying to rush Spring in with happy.. cheery colors. lol  I am so ready for Spring and for the last of this crazy cold I've had to gooooooo away!  I haven had a cold for so long that I think I forgot how rotten they can be. ugh!
Today I thought I'd share a quick, fun project for your counter or window cill that will be certain to bring you some Spring cheer.

I used my AccuCut flower die but any flower die would work great. They are especially fun if you can sizes that you can layer for dimension.    I used some vintage spools I had that were empty, and just added some colored twine to them.  (By the way, if you have wooden spools... hang on to them because they are not as easy to fine as they were even a few years ago.  I just ordered some from an etsy that were older ones and then also some from Amazon that were new.  It seems that the larger ones are much harder to find at a good prince than the smaller ones. I used to find them all the time at Flea Markets, to the point I was just passing up bag fulls that were very reasonable because it thought I had enough :(   Sorry I did that now).

I used a the Fancy Pants Sweet Nothings Collection for these.

I friend of mine asked if I'd make some for her for gifts for Mothers Day.
Fun idea for friends for Mothers Day :)

Last night W and E were here for a bit while mom and dad had a dinner date.   Lily is so happy when they are here. It's weird because she has never really "played", not even with stuffed toys.  I don't know if it's because who ever had her didn't play with her when she was a pup  or what??  But she just stands and stares at the kids like... hey... look at me. talk to me . lol  And she just  gets closer and closer and won't move.   They are so good about giving both dogs attention .. unless ( as in this case) there is a very action  packed movie playing. lol

here... me... I 'm right here.

My week has been pretty chill, still recovering from this cold.  Getting groceries yesterday was enough to wear me out. lol .. no seriously.  I was pooped
So, not lots more to share here.  Tuesday is girls crafting day, so I'll be back sharing our day and what we create.

Enjoy your weekend my friends!

Hugs, Vicki

Altered wood accordian pieces using ADORNit and "Spring" banners for sale.

Hey everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine wasn't great simply because I caught the cold but that is going around.  I haven't gotten much of anything done this weekend at all, and to tell you the truth I've felt just cruddy enough not to care. lol
I had worked on these earlier in the week, so I thought I'd share them with you today.   While the girls and I were out to lunch one day last week, we stopped into a little shop, and I spotted these wood, free standing accordion fold pieces.  They had a design on them but nothing spectacular.... and that's okay, because it just made it that much easier to cover when I altered them. lol

I used ADORNit papers and stickers on both of these.  The one with five pieces I used to alter with our family photos .  ADORNit has some great paper collections.  You can see them all here.

I made this one for my sis with her adorable grandson on it.  They were so fun, I wish I had more of them to alter.  They are the perfect size for a gift for someone for their desk at work.  Well, anywhere, mantel, end table ect.

Is he a punk'n or what???

This is what I started out saying a few days ago.  I really thought I was just "a little HORSE" lol from sinus issues.  We are way past that now.  geeeezzz   This is nasty stuff that's going around. It doesn't help that I haven't had a cold or been sick for a while.... because I'm really being a baby about it. lol
I am a person who loves sleep and when something disrupts that ... UGH.. like this coughing, ... I am not a happy camper.
Here is hoping for improvement tomorrow.

I mentioned a while back that I would have a few SPRING banners for sale. I had some orders, so while I was at it I made a few extras.  If anyone is interested just shoot me an email at vickichrisman@hotmail.com

Stickles was used on the flowers and Diamond Glaze on the butterflies.

Okay friends, it's back to the couch for me.

A new layout using Millie & June Fancy Pants Designs

Hello friends!
Well, among other things I'm still working on some layouts for hire for a friends Grandchilds graduation this year.   I thought I'd share another one with you today.  I have always really like the Millie & June Collection .......and finally I'm getting a chance to do some girly layouts. yay!     I'm doing MANY, so I have to keep the layouts simple so I can make serious progress. Using Fancy Pants Collections sure make things move along quickly with the coordinating title, and ephemera pieces.  Otherwise I find myself digging thru every thing in my room lol   I wish I could use FP of ALL these layouts!

I've also been working on some Spring banners to sell.  I'll be posting those soon, if anyone is interested.

So... Emmett was here yesterday and spent the night last night.  Mom, dad and his brother were out of town at a game. I knew it might be late when they got back so I said.. "just let him spend the night, and I'll take him to preschool in the morning".  We found all kinds of things to do. First we made some St Patricks day treats.

Then we went over to Lylas farm up the road to see the farm animals.  On the way he informed me that he would look at the geese and cats and dog but that he didn't like cows. lol

Well, he ended up playing he kazoo ( that we got when we stopped at Family Dollar) for the cows, and I think a wonderful friendship was built. lol
It was really nice here yesterday, so it was a great day to get out.

I had the dogs outside for a bit but even though it was in the 70's, Little Miss Lily was still shivering.  She is a total cold weather wimp.  Even with her sweater on, she just wanted to come in an lay on her  blanket. lol
Emmett was so excited to have Lily sleep with him last night. She was pretty happy about that also.

Dan is off today and we are going to Kate's schools open house. Kate was very involved in setting it all up and Jarad will be there manning the Fire Dept table.  Looking forward to seeing them.

I'll be back soon to share the banners.

Happy Day to all of you!!!

90th Birthday card and some other fun

Hey everyone!
Hoping your week has been a good one. It feels to me that it has flown by. There has been something going on every day. All good things so I cant complain. Time with friends, and time with family. I'll share some photos further down in this post.
This morning I spent some time working on a Birthday card for a very special lady who is celebrating her 90th Birthday.  My friend Marianne,(who has been my friend for years), is having a card shower for her mom's 90th Birthday. Marianne has been a friend since grade school. We were best friends and neighbors  all thru junior high and high school and then became room mates after that. She has lived out of state for years now, but we still stay in touch of course.  Her mom Vi is a gem. Always smiling!  I'll be sending her this card, but my intention is to set up a time to meet up and go visit with her.  She ( Vi)  is just a little over an hour from me.

Celebrating the 90th Birthday of an amazing woman!

Tuesday I met up with the girls for lunch.  I made up these little St Patty's gifts just for fun.

We celebrated February Birthdays! Julie and Karen!  We were at a Mexican restaurant, can you tell? lol

Monday Lyla came over to play.  We had a fun and busy day.  We painted....

She was proud of her canvas.

We made cookies......

and made a tent under the table. lol  We played in the tent with the pretend food, but as you can see, it came in handy later in the day also.

Yesterday Amy and Wes came for Lunch and spent the afternoon.  It was really nice that it worked about that it was Dan's day off so he could be here also.

Jep finished his training classes.

Can you tell he's proud??? lol

I always love having the kids home, and cooking for them.   The dogs had fun playing together, as always.

Time for me to get back to these layouts on my desk , sooooo... until next time.

Thanks, as always for stopping by.  I'm always happy to have you.
